Zoe Jordan’s AW13 catwalk show was as popular as ever as it quickly became standing room only and celebrity presenters Laura Whitmore and Amanda Byram took to the FROW. As the moody soundtrack started, models with loosely backcombed hair in low-slung ponytails and gentle eyeliner flicks took to the catwalk in sleek, sophisticated tailoring.
This collection was entitled ‘Foundations’ and was inspired by post-modernist, minimalist architecture. The clean lines and bold architectural shapes that informed Jordan’s inspiration were clear to see on the catwalk, with strong silhouettes and clean cuts creating the ‘boyish elegance’ that Jordan was trying to achieve.
Cream knits, dogtooth suits and chunky fur gilets were the first designs to grace the catwalk and were all paired with gorgeous bold chunky heels with small ankle straps. Flashes of bright colour- popping tangarine and hot pink began to appear in amongst these, before knits were then paired with luxe silk skirts, monochrome printed maxi skirts and oversized grey boyfriend coats. The collection then turned its attention to structured monochrome dresses with geometric panels, fabulous wet look panel leggings and more flashes of vibrant orange and pink. These were once again all teamed with backless bold statement boot shoes and a nude make-up pallette. The collection ended on luxe shimmering metallics, including a mini dress and full on trouser suit complete with glimmering blazer.
It is fair to say that Zoe Jordan’s AW13 collection was incredibly wearable and perfect for both the office and the evening. It was a sophisticated and varied collection full of sharp clean cuts, geometric designs, striking heels in bright colour blocks, leather panels and luxe metallics that definitely have a place in today’s London.
Plus, the goodybag was complete with a Glossybox, Bourjois lip balm and fabulous diary which didn’t hurt my enjoyment of the show.
