New Look SS13 Press Day

28 Nov

Yesterday I was invited along to the New Look SS13 press day and got chance to have a look at some fabulous clothes, accessories and shoes whilst sipping on a SCRUMMY pomegranate cocktail.

Mark Fast brought fringing into the fashion fast lane (like what I did there?) with his SS13 catwalk and fringing was seen everywhere in New Look’s SS13 collection from accessories and shoes, to bikinis and clothes. These are perfect for festivals or for updating your wardrobe without having to buy entire outfits!

Digital and Applique Florals

Both Digital floral prints and applique floral cut outs were a hit in 2012 and look set to stay if New Look’s ‘Pleasantville’ trousers, jackets and skirts are anything to go by! A mixture of cute and fashion-forward a la Peter Pilotto.

There were some cute prairie-style offerings, including this cream lace skirt, cream/floral tea dress and cropped floral top. These would be great to grunge up with a khaki/army jacket or slubby spiked cardigan.

1920s Deco and Embellishment

One of my favourite trends is the 1920s Great Gatsby embellishment style which is big this AW12 too. The New Look SS13 collection sees some sophisticated embellished purses, embellished art deco vest tops, beaded collars and some fabulous embellished/sequin shorts.

Also, totally unrelated but I did love the seating at the press event!
