Review: Benefit They’re Real Mascara

3 Nov

I’m a bit late in reviewing this mascara as it has already got an army of fans after its launch earlier this summer! Still, better late than never!

They’re Real promises to lengthen, volumise and provide incredibly black lashes. Benefit are a great unique brand that do have some good products – such as Coralista Blusher and Bad Gal Lash – but can also be a little bit hit-and-miss. Luckily, I’m pleased to say that I’m pretty much joining the fans with this mascara!

After a hassle buying from cheapsmells.com, I eventually got refunded and bought from feelunique.com. The product looks like this:

The rubber brush head has small tight bristles which really get every lash coated. The packaging says to hold the brush horizontally and wiggle side to side to get volume and then sweep vertically to get length, which does seem to work. This brush actually works really well – much better than their Bad Gal mascara and the large brush which would print everywhere! Here are a couple of (unflattering) pics to show the difference:

I love that lashes only need one coat and there is no flaking. The only downsides are the £18.50 price tag and just how difficult it is to remove! (Even when you think you’ve got it all the night before, I can guarantee you will wake up with dark panda eyes that are a nightmare to get rid of!) Still, not a bad mascara at all.
