Ok, so this post is not in strict keeping with the theme of the blog, but I just had to share my excitement at attending the UK premiere of Burlesque in London last night!
I was lucky enough to go after winning a prize in a magazine which included return tickets to and from London, a one-night stay in a 4* hotel, a free outfit from Miss Selfridge, a free box of Smashbox cosmetics (which I shall no doubt be reviewing soon), free chauffeurs, and free tickets to the premiere. Nothing this good ever happens to me so even the cold early Monday morning train ride on the floor could not dampen my excitement! Mummy Marston also came along for the ride.
We were driven to Piccadilly Monday evening with the other lovely winners and got to walk the red carpet-I could definitely get used to this!
After some celeb spotting (including Abi Titmuss, Paloma Faith, Ellie Goulding and more of The Only Way is Essex crew) we settled down with our complimentary popcorn to watch the film. It was pure cheese and totally cliched but great if you love Cher, Christina Aguilera, or films like Coyote Ugly. Christina played a woman who leaves her home town to pursue her dreams of making it as a singer/dancer and eventually becomes a hit at an LA Burlesque bar, run by Cher’s character. Though the storyline was predictable, it was hard to deny what amazing singers both these artists are.
