What could possibly unite Gok Wan, Jeff Brazier, and The Only Way is Essex’s Mark and Lauren? Why, Birmingham’s The Clothes Show of course! The week-long event kicked off at the NEC this Friday 3rd December and I was lucky enough to go.
The Clothes Show has come on leaps and bounds since the last time I visited as a wee 15 year-old and the event this year was huge with more zones than ever before; there were areas dedicated to vintage, to student designs, to cheaper fashion, to hair, beauty, and to lifestyle goods to name but a few. The event is fantastic at uncovering bargains, such as this gold leaf brooch that I found in a little basket in the vintage section and bought for a mere £3:
I even uncovered a vintage Chanel bag at Blue Rinse’s stall that cost £25-amazing! Hannah and I also invested in identical brollies, as you do.
The Clothes Show was not only great at offering the chance to find some bargains, but also for showcasing upcoming designer talent. Various fashion colleges exhibited at the Company Catwalk and these were some of my favourites:
